Johannesburg
There is so much to see and explore in the bustling suburb of Rosebank. But picking where to start can be a bit daunting. In this guide I’ve outlined my top picks in the area.
January 2024With a Gautrain station, brilliant infrastructure, and beautiful office buildings, it's no surprise that companies like Coco-Cola, Anglo America, an BP have all chosen Rosebank for their head offices. But you don't need to be part of a large corporate to join in the buzz. Plenty of coworking locations in and around: WeWork (classic choice), Mesh Club (members-only club), Workshop17 (at Firestation & the Bank), and Perch Offices (my top choice. Great value & relaxed feel).
Here are my top choices for coffee in Rosebank: Father Coffee (a cult favourite amongst coffee lovers), Iris Garden Patisserie (minimalist aesthetic, very popular with Insta girlies)
Keen for sundowners with your gals? These are my top picks to get drinks on a night out, or after a day of work: Perrier-Jouët Champagne Bar, Radisson Red, and Mix Cocktail Bar
Tucked away at the ground level of the mall, next to Kameraz. This space hosts beautiful photographic exhibitions whilst also doubling as a coffee shop and coworking space.

We can't forget the fact that Rosebank is one of the go-to shopping districts within Parks. Jam-packed with flagship and boutique-style stores. But few stores seem to capture Rosebank culture quite as aptly as Pantry. A petrol station and convenience store headed up by David Higgs and his brilliant team from Marble. With a focus on artisan products and sophisticated convenience food, this fresh spot really epitomizes the perfect blend of 'fancy but easy'.
End your day with a delicious meal at my top picks for dinner in Rosebank: Marble (the quintessential Rosebank experience. Go early and make sure to catch the sunset before dinner), Proud Mary (A beautifully vibey setting, especially on weekends), and The Shortmarket Club (Lovely to have the LDR group expanding)
Africa's oldest commercial art gallery. Established in 1913 and relocated to Rosebank in the early 1970s. Known for showcasing some of Southern Africa's finest modern and contemporary artists. A must-visit.
